About this hunt

We run private, scouting-driven hunts, moving with current feeds, roosts, weather and bird movement instead of depending on one field or pond. Depending on conditions, your group may hunt ducks over water or geese in agricultural fields.

This is the one hunt we offer that is not all-inclusive. The $400 day rate covers the fully guided morning hunt. Lodging and meals are available as an add-on, and you can add a winter dove or thermal hog hunt to the trip.

  • Fully guided morning hunt
  • Daily scouting
  • Full-body flocked decoys
  • Prepared hides
  • Bird cleaning
  • 2 to 8 hunters

A Straight Answer on Sandhill Cranes

Book a waterfowl hunt, not a crane hunt

We do not sell standalone sandhill crane hunts. Cranes come and go, and booking a morning around a bird that may not be here sets everyone up to sit in a field watching an empty sky.

So you book a waterfowl hunt. If you want to target sandhills, tell us — we will scout for them and go after them when they are around. If there are no cranes in the area, we will move you to a pond shoot or a field hunt for ducks and geese instead of wasting your morning.

Two Areas

Where we hunt, and where you stay

Our waterfowl hunting runs out of two separate areas. They hold different water and different country, and each has its own lodging.

Beaver Area · Oklahoma Panhandle

Panhandle field and pond hunts

Panhandle country in and around the Beaver River drainage. Field hunts for geese — and sandhill cranes when they are in — over full-body flocked decoys, and pond shoots for ducks, all driven by daily scouting.

Lodging: our Beaver-area camp sleeps up to 8. Lodging with chef-prepared meals is $250 per hunter, per night.

Canton & Watonga · Western Oklahoma

Canadian River country

Private ground in the Canadian River country near Canton and Watonga. We hunt private properties near Canton Lake, not the lake itself — agricultural fields, ponds and river-bottom ground where the birds are actually feeding and loafing.

Lodging: the Canton Lake Lodge. Lodging with chef-prepared meals is $250 per hunter, per night.
